Velvet Vapors has been a mixed bag for me so far. The flavors of their juices have been above average, with delicious, natural flavors. Unfortunately their performance has been, well, wimpy. Love the flavor, but they leave me wanting more. More throat hit. More taste. More.
I understand that a more delicate vape is going to appeal to vapers who value subtlety and don't want their senses taxed. I appreciate subtlety as well, but while less is sometimes more, I don't like feeling unsatisfied either. When I come to the table looking for a tobacco vape, I expect something that is going to have rich flavor, nicotine sizzle and impact.
In The Lab for analysis today I've got Velvet Vapors Wild West, their entry into the Analog Replacement Sweepstakes. Promising "power-packed tobacco flavor with grassy undertones", they offer it in both regular and menthol.
I will be vaping this 18mg PG blend on my 3.7v Copper 510.

I may revisit a juice from time to time to post updated impressions. Despite the fact that I let juices age at least a couple of weeks before I review them, every now and then a juice will continue to change for another week or two.
Alien Visions Boba's Bounty. The single most loved juice in all of vaping. No slight against any other vendor. I know everyone would like to think they have the number one juice. Look at the forums. Look at YouTube. Then tell me I'm wrong. People love Boba's Bounty. This is more people's all day vape than any other juice out there.
I kind of resisted going there. I have always been one to like the underground and eschew the mainstream, so the popularity of Boba's Bounty actually put me off. I like discovering my own stuff instead of having someone else tell me what I should like.
Well, I was wrong. I broke down and finally ordered a small bottle last week. The first time I sat down with it I was unimpressed. The second time I sat down with I am still not getting why people flip out for this juice. The third time I sat down with it was like getting hit by a bolt of lightning. I totally get it. Read on to see why Alien Visions Boba's Bounty is one of three juices I can't live without.
I will be vaping this 18mg molasses-thick all VG juice on my 3.7v Copper, both with standard and low resistance atomizers.
Freedom Smoke USA is an extremely popular vendor with a big following. I owe David a big debt of gratitude, because when I first started vaping I had ordered some crap juice to start with. The 3ml sample of Wyatt Earp he included in an order of atomizers and drip tips was what kept the whole vaping project from being a failure for me. I vaped it all that first week. I have developed some different preferences since then, but I'll always have a soft spot for Wyatt Earp because of that.
This Freedom Smoke USA Pink Lemonade was a sample he included when I had ordered a couple bottles of Wyatt. I remember being excited to see what sample was in the box, then sinking into disappointment when I saw that it was Pink Lemonade. Pink Lemonade? Seriously? I'm a tobacco vaper, and of all the samples he could have included with my order, Pink Lemonade is not one I would have chosen. I'm more of a limeade guy anyway. Besides, it's not a very manly thing to tell people who ask that you're vaping pink lemonade.
So I vaped a drop or two of this juice when it first showed up, but this is the first time I am sitting down with it and putting some thought into my impressions. I will be vaping this 24mg glass of Pink Lemonade on my 3.7v Copper 510.
Vanilla is a tried and true tobacco flavoring. Used to add a sweet, smoothing note to pipe and cigar tobacco, it adds depth without drawing attention away from the star of the show, the tobacco.
Like many of you, I grew up with vanilla out of a bottle. In fact, I grew up with artificial vanilla flavoring. So as a young adult when I discovered real vanilla it was kind of a revelation. The flavor of vanilla bean or a genuine vanilla extract is just so much better, so much more compelling than the artificial version. It's a component that adds depth and flavor to so many of my creations in the kitchen. I couldn't do without it.
Vapors Etc is off to a good start, with two positive reviews for two juices reviewed. Let's see if they can keep up the trend.

I love tobacco. I love throat hit. When I first got my bottle of Bella Valente from Halo, I wasn't very pleased. A little aging in The Juice Cellar more than rectified that, and now it is one of my daily vapes. However, at the time I was unhappy, and I found myself scrambling to find a cigar vape juice that satisfied.
One of the vendors that came to light during this search was Velvet Vapors. I've been diving into the sampler pack I ordered, with mostly positive impressions. Could Velvet Vapors Vanilla Cigar capture the robust, deep qualities of Cuban tobacco and deliver a monster throat hit to punctuate the message? Well of course, it had to be one of the juices I ordered.
So tonight I have broken out a fresh atty and am going to give this juice a chance to show me what it's got. I just had a wonderful dinner with Mrs. Doctor Vapenstein and little Igor, and it's time to sit down and enjoy a nice cigar vape.
I am vaping this 18mg PG/VG blend on my 3.7v Copper 510.
This is my first juice from BlueMist Vaping. They had a spectacular Thanksgiving sale, with 150ml (yes, 150ml) bottles for $20! Whoa. That is a lot of juice for twenty bones. I would have ponied up if I was familiar with the product and wasn't so afraid of commitment.
I do have some tobacco juices from BlueMist in The Juice Cellar, but I am letting them rest another week before I begin serious evaluation. As part of my order Rob threw this sampler in, and I thought I'd sit down with it this morning and see what I thought.
So quality, made to order USA juice at crazy low prices? Man, I sure hope so. The other vendors that made that promise LIED to me. Let's see what's going on with this BlueMist juice.
I will be vaping this 24mg PG/VG blend on my 3.7v Copper 510.
I don't miss smoking cigarettes. After so many years of doing it I remember all too well the respiratory impairment I experienced at the end of most days. The hacking up of kittens in the morning. No thanks.
What I do miss is that feeling, that feeling of relief that swept over your when you took a long drag off a cigarette when you were really craving one. That's why we have the Analog Replacement Sweepstakes. I don't even want a vape that tastes like a cigarette, just one that gives me good throat hit and that feeling.
Vapors Etc is a new vendor (new to me) that I am pretty happy about, and when I ordered a sampler with my first order I thought I'd give their entrant in the Analog Replacement Sweepstakes a shot, Vapors Etc Red Box. It's worth mentioning that the five juice 3ml sampler they offer is priced the same as their 15ml bottles, which is a good deal and makes giving them a try that much easier.
I actually was led to Velvet Vapors in my search for a good cigar vape. I was intrigued by some of the unique tobacco flavors offered by Kat, and I ordered a sampler to see what I liked. This is the first time I have sat down with any of the juice I got from Velvet Vapors, and if this juice is any indication I am going to go back soon for bigger bottles.
I had emailed Kat in advance asking what they used to achieve their tobacco flavor, and had received the response that they used a combination of tobacco absolute and flavorings. Good enough for me. I'm bored with tobaccos that all taste the same, and I am far more interested in vendors that make their own extracts or use tobacco absolute. These juices provide far more pleasure as far as I'm concerned. I like the flavor of tobacco, and there are too many tobacco juices out there that taste like someone made them in a lab, or that taste like every other vendor's tobacco. I want real, unique tobacco flavor.
I have a confession to make. I've never smoked tobacco out of a hookah. I am not familiar with the whole shisha thing. Shisha is a mixture of tobacco, molasses and flavoring. Sounds delicious, and I love Turkish tobacco.
I will be vaping this 18mg PG/VG blend in my 3.7v Copper 510.
Maple. I love it. My all time favorite candy is those little maple sugar candies shaped like maple leaves and people. I adore pure maple syrup. I hide it from little Igor so he doesn't squander it on toaster waffles. In fact, our very favorite meal of the year is our St. Patrick's Day Feast, where I make the traditional corned beef dinner with cabbage and all the trimmings. Then I slice my briskets and finish them in the broiler with a glaze I make out of pure maple syrup, prepared mustard and brown sugar. So good.
My previous experiences with maple vape juices have been a disappointment. I have high hopes for today's contestant, Vermont Vapor Sugarhouse. I mean, if a Vermont juice vendor can't get maple juice right, who can?
So let's get straight to The Lab and test this 20mg VG juice on my 3.7v Copper 510.
