You can make your own e-juice. It can sound a bit unbelievable but that is the truth. Here are a few steps to make E-juice yourself:
Diluted Nicotine: You will need some good-quality diluted nicotine to make your own E-juice. Nicotine degrades rapidly so it depends on your preferred nicotine level but, a 100 mL bottle of 72 mg/ mL nicotine should be enough for beginners.
Propylene Glycol or Vegetable Glycerin: Referred to as PG and VG, these are the ‘Diluents’ which dilute the nicotine to give a pleasurable vaping experience.
Flavors: The last thing on the check list is to have some flavors on you. Although it is optional. When flavors are not used one ends up smoking “neat” liquid.
Amongst other things you will require to make your own E-Juice are drip tip bottles, containers, syringes and gloves.
Next are the steps to be followed to make your own E-juice:
Step 1: You need to determine how strong you want your E-juice to be. The miligrams of nicotine can be determined using this simple equation: (Strength in mg/mL)(Volume in mL) = Amount of nicotine in mg.
Step 2: Put on some gloves and transfer the diluted nicotine content into your drip tip bottle. 16 mL nicotine is enough for a beginner. So, using a syringe, extract 16 mL nicotine and transfer it to the bottle. Make sure that the syringe has no air bubbles before getting to the transferring part.
Step 3: At this step, you can add whatever flavor you have chosen to the bottle. Using E-Flavors, you probably would want to keep the total volume of all the flavors you are using at 10%-15% of the total volume of e-Liquid. Maybe slightly more or less depending on which flavors you are using. If you are using other flavor concentrates, the recommended dilution tends to be 20-30% throughout the industry. You’ll want to check the recommended dilution from those manufacturers though.
Step 4: Now, we measure and add the base, that is, the PG/VG. The diluted nicotine already adds to the PG content of the E-juice, so it is advisable only to add the VG at this point or else the juice will start tasting a lot like chemicals. Because we are just starting off with this, adding 30 mLs of VG should be enough.
Step 5: Screw the drip tip on the bottle and shake it vigorously for several minutes.
Step 6: This step is called “steeping”. One has to wait for the chemical reactions take place between the ingredients and the oxygen in the air. This lets the flavors blend in. After shaking it, leave the cap off and let the formula sit and breathe for a few days.
