Italian vendor Puff Cigarette made a big splash with Next #117, garnering the first ever Vapenstein It's Alive! Award for a flavoring concentrate. I loved the burnt caramel note of the resulting juice, and I found the performance of the 75PG/25VG blend very satisfying in terms of performance. It was one of those juices that had no trace of tobacco to it, but satisfied in a very tobacco-like manner. I like it very much and have almost used up my small supply.
Today's specimen is Next #169, another of their tobacco flavorings that is described by them as "gusto tobacco rotundo". Hmmm, enjoy round tobacco or enjoy fat tobacco? In any event, it sounds like another robust tobacco vape, and I'm always up for that.
I mixed this juice, which I believe is already a 50/50 blend, 50/50 with 50mg/ml PG nic, so the resulting liquid should be approximately 75PG/25VG and 25mg. I usually mix 20mg, and I really should start knocking that down to 16-18mg, but I always vape 24-25mg in the morning.
I will be vaping Next #169 at 3.7v on my Bombshell with a fresh 1.5 ohm Cisco atty.
The nose of this juice is dry and dark. It has that same burnt caramel element as #117, but this time it is presented differently. It doesn't strike you as being as caramel-y as #117, and the impression I get from the aroma is of a stronger, more robust presentation.
The flavor on inhale is slightly sweet, very dry and has the burnt caramel note way in the background. Throat hit is excellent. This is another very satisfying tobacco vape, and this one is decidedly more analog-like than #117.
The flavor on exhale is, similar to #117, like sucking on a Ricola. That is the best way I can describe it. It has sweetness. It has that dark, vaguely caramel thing going on. There is also a quality that I would describe as herbal, and Ricola is the best comparison I could make. Closer to Ricola than Jagermeister, although it does somewhat make me think that as well. Vapor production is average for a PG blend, but that is a function of the juice I made from this and not a factor in judging a flavoring.
How do I like #169? I like it very much, thank you. I am going to refrain from giving this a Vapenstein It's Alive! Award, and here's why: The three Next tobacco flavorings I have vaped all have an extremely similar flavor profile. The difference is in the balance. This is very much like Vapor Station tobacco vapes, which I all find excellent as well, but they also have a very similar flavor profile running through them. Same goes for ECOpure, and you know how much I love ECOpure Rich and using ECOpure as a mixing base for certain flavors. Honestly, I could give all Vapor Station, ECOpure and Next tobaccos an It's Alive!, but they are so similar (within brand) that I feel better about just making the comparison in the review. I am adding this juice to the Sweepstakes though, because it is much more cigarette-like than #117.
Next tobacco juice does not taste like tobacco. Not at all. However, it does an incredibly good job of flipping the tobacco switch in your brain, and I find these to be among the most satisfying tobacco vapes in the vaping world at this time. Really nice stuff, and I urge readers who love tobacco vapes to suffer the expense and wait of international air mail to try these and see if you feel the same way I do. Heartily recommended.
