I live for opportunities to evaluate obscure product. When I was contacted by an Italian reader about getting some juice from Italian vendor Puff Cigarette, without hesitation I said please and thank you.
He put me in contact with the company, and after a while I got a DHL delivery from them. Included were thick lab specs and material safety data sheets for these Italian-made juices. I can tell you that the flavoring I am reviewing today, #117, contains only five ingredients and meets all kinds of Euro health standards certifications.
Next juice is zero nic and double flavored. You could vape it straight, but I think most of us are going to mix it 50/50 with our base. In my case, I mixed my samples 50/50 with 50mg/ml PG nic, for a resulting 25mg juice. I let these sit for a week before I tried them, and I've been vaping them for a few days now.
Puff describes #117 as "gusto tobacco intenso", which I translate as "robust, intense tobacco". Sounds like they made it just for me. Let's get this super cool unknown quantity into The Lab and put it to work.
My sample is 25mg with approximately 75%PG/25%VG. I will be vaping this juice at 3.7v on my Bombshell with a Cisco 1.5 ohm atty.
The nose of this juice is great. Things are off to a good start. I smoke a bowl of pipe tobacco about every second or third day, and this is the closest any juice has ever come to making me think it smelled like a rich, earthy, aromatic pipe blend. There are shades of chocolate and burnt caramel and the suggestion of smoke. It's one of the very best aromas I've ever had come off my atty.
The flavor on inhale is extraordinarily complex. Like my favorite analog replacement juices, #117 does not taste like tobacco. I doubt very much that there is any tobacco in #117. However, it does push the tobacco button in my brain. Instead of tasting like the target, this juice paints a picture of it in compelling shades of dark chocolate and golden hues. It's slightly sweet and earthy, and the suggestion of black licorice is there, and I mean real licorice. I can tell you right now there is no licorice in this though. The closest I could come to compare it in visual and sensual terms that would make sense is that this juice is like vaping a Ricola. There are tones and shades to this that touch on so many sensory memories, and your brain is scrambling to try to sort and classify all the impressions. It's much like a good cigar or single malt scotch. We're all going to perceive this one differently I'm afraid. I'm very impressed. The throat hit of this juice is great. Not top of the heap analog replacement great, but it has solid impact and it delivers the message that it's a tobacco vape.
The flavor on exhale has more of that burnt caramel, and a finish that is softly tobacco-like. There is no tongue bite or lingering sizzle, but it has a quality that is hot and dry and reminds me of expelling tobacco smoke. It's a facsimile, but it's a compelling one. Again, without tasting like or performing exactly like tobacco, it has elements that your brain instantly assigns to tobacco. They have done a very nice job with this juice, and it has me excited to try the rest. Vapor production of this juice in my base is consistent with and equal to most PG blends.
Wow, I wasn't expecting that. You really look forward to trying product that seemingly no one else has vaped, and you're doomed from the start because the stuff never lives up to your expectations. Next #117 exceeded my expectations, wildly. I need more of this. I do not want to be looking at an empty bottle of this, and very few juices make me feel that way.
This stuff is costly. It's Europe, and the dollar is in a bad way these days. You're looking at approximately $15/10ml. That makes 20ml of juice roughly, so that isn't such a bad deal even though it's high by USA juice standards, but you have to take into consideration the premium you'll pay for shipping from Europe. If you are a discerning tobacco vaper and you can afford the expense, I wholeheartedly recommend ordering some of this and the Next #169 as well. You'll have to register to place an order, the cart doesn't show up til you're logged in.
Incredible vape. I've never given a flavoring an award before, but why not? Flavoring concentrate, juice, it's all the same. No question here, this juice is Alive. Beyond a shadow of a doubt.
