I screwed up my Bloog MaxXFusion. I made it a little less than 48 hours before I killed the battery filling a carto. I was bent. It's a $20 battery. Wasn't their fault though, it was mine. My entire vaping life has revolved around sealed battery 510 mods. I just wasn't thinking about the consequences of getting juice in an automatic battery, because I had never used one before.
I tried to express that in the addendum to my MaxXFusion review. I can't blame Bloog for a KR8 newbie mistake. So when leaford offered to send me new batteries, I declined. He had already been nice enough to send me the unit to evaluate, and I didn't want to take advantage of his generosity.
I did keep thinking about how well those Bloog cartos performed though, and two weeks ago I broke down and ordered a KR8-510 adapter so I could use them with my hardware. I've been carrying them in my PV case this last week, and I thought it warranted this revisit.
The Bloog cartos perform. I don't have a multimeter, so I can't test their output, but where I said in the original review that they hit harder than a 510 at 3.7v, I can now say that I feel they hit slightly harder than a 510 LR atty at 3.7v. Really amazing. If a 510 LR puts out around 4.2v, then my guess is that these run close to 4.5v territory, or at least that's how they perform. I haven't burned one up yet, so I can't comment on longevity, but the performance of these cartos is simply impressive.
Bloog needs to concentrate on holding their customers' hands with simple, easy to understand instructions on carto refilling, and should also include a prominent warning in the box on the dangers of filling cartos while attached to the battery. Something simple that the customer is sure to read. Who reads the little text-filled booklets in a box, right? It needs to be something graphic, and it should be the first thing you see when you open the box. The right documentation in the box would go a long way toward helping new Bloog owners avoid destroying their $20 batteries. Other than that, I don't have any advice for them. They obviously know their KR8s, and their cartos offers performance any seasoned veteran vaper can appreciate.
I'm still a 510 guy. The availability of options on 510 lets you tailor your vaping experience to your needs, with a wealth of atty, carto and high voltage options. These Bloog cartos rock though, and if someone who I feel is going to be frustrated with juggling attys, juice and batteries asks me how to get into vaping, Bloog is who I am going to recommend as a gateway to vaping. Really nice cartos that deliver hot vapor with great throat hit. These things sizzle. It took me a few tries with different juice on 510 before I was certain that vaping would eliminate smoking in my life. Especially impressive for an inconspicuous device that will look like a cigarette to casual onlookers. For someone who needs as painless a transition as possible I think if this product doesn't do it, nothing would. With this kind of performance it's an easy product to recommend.
