I ordered a two bottle test order first time around with Vapor Station, Djarum Mild and Frisco. Frisco was very highly recommended on ECF, and Djarum, well, there just aren't that many kretek juices out there. Smell is one of the greatest memory triggers, and kreteks have one of the world's most unique smells. The smell of kretek brings memories of being 20-something and having a great time club hopping. I suppose there are two reasons for the lack of kretek juices; one, clove oil is hard on your lungs, and probably attys too. Two, have you ever looked at what goes into a kretek? This is straight from Djarum's website: maple, chocolate, licorice, plum, coffee, strawberry, pineapple, vanilla, orange.....those are just some of the ingredients used.
So anyway I got my Vapor Station order and was quite impressed. The juice was really good, and I liked the glass 15ml dropper bottles. Plus, at $7/15ml, Vapor Station juice represents a great value. Mrs. Doctor Vapenstein and I went through the VS Frisco faster than any juice we had purchased, so I ordered a 30ml bottle of it and a couple other flavors. One of them was VS Tampa, Vapor Station's straight tobacco blend.
Right out of the gate VS Tampa gave a good first impression. At 16mg it produces a nice throat hit and produces more than adequate vapor. Not sure what the PG/VG mix is, but it is the right balance.
After spending some time with VS Tampa over a couple of days I have come to the conclusion that this juice is the closest thing to an analog cigarette that we've tried yet here in The Lab. We've had a few juices come through the door here at Castle Vapenstein that have been touted as being analog-like, but so far VS Tampa is the closest for me. Mrs. Doctor Vapenstein just loves the stuff and says it's ok to order a bigger bottle.
My impression of VS Tampa is that it is very much like a light analog. It doesn't have the punch of a full flavor like a Winston Red or Marlboro. VS Tampa is a mild tobacco that is a lot like a Marlboro Light. That is not to say that it is lightweight, merely easy to get along with. I can vape this stuff any time of day. I'm vaping it right now with total satisfaction, and usually my morning vape is a heartier blend. I detect an ever so slight hint of nut. Barely there, but just on the tip of your tongue on exhale. Just the thinnest of whispers of the nutty flavor that is so strong in VS Frisco. If you like VS Frisco, I think you will also like VS Tampa, but they are completely different animals.
Every juice I have ordered from Vapor Station has been a winner. VS Tampa is no exception, and is joining the select group of juices in daily vape rotation here at Castle Vapenstein. It is completely satisfying at 16mg, but I think I will reorder at 24mg for use as my morning blend with coffee. It is also worth mentioning that every juice I have ordered from Vapor Station was great right out of the mail, unlike some juices that need to spend some time in The Juice Cellar before they really shine.
VS Tampa gets a hearty endorsement from Vapenstein. I have no problem at all giving this juice the Vapenstein It's Alive! Award. One of the very best tobacco juices we've used.
I just got this juice in 24mg. At 16mg it vapes like a light analog. At 24mg it's as good as any full flavor analog. Really, really good. I shouldn't have ordered this.
