Nicotiana rustica is a potent variety of tobacco that has up to 10x the nicotine content of the tobacco we consumed. Used by native new worlders for a variety of ceremonial purposes, rustica is also so strong that it is an ingredient in some pesticides. This is the tobacco that got the Spaniards hooked, and they took it back to Europe with them and started 400 years of lung cancer and emphysema. Thanks Spain, you killed two of the most important people in my life and took years off my own. j/k
Well, how do you say no to that? I thought this was such an interesting sounding juice when I first saw it that it was what led me to place my first order with Intellicig-USA. So far RIZe juice has provided two solid entries in the Analog Replacement Sweepstakes. After reviewing them I never saw the bottles again. Mrs. Doctor Vapenstein loves cigarette-like vapes and is constantly engaging in monologues about her dissatisfaction that juice makers all seem to think tobacco tastes like sweet nuts and her view that they must be sissies if they don't know what a real cigarette tastes like.
So an interesting tobacco vape in The Lab today. I don't know of any commercially available tobacco products that utilize rustica, so I have zero expectations going into this session. Let us commence with the evaluation and see what our analysis provides.
I will be vaping this 24mg PG blend on my Bombshell at 3.7v.
The nose of this juice is dry, dry tobacco. Absolutely arid. Dryer than Turkish tobacco.
The flavor on inhale is similarly dry, and has an almost powdery body. Think dry tobacco ground to the fineness of talcum powder and you'll have some idea. Have a glass of water nearby. Throat hit is acceptable, but not very punchy. I would have preferred this particular juice in this strength to hit harder.
The flavor on exhale is very, very close to the flavor of an analog that I didn't smoke. I can't quite put my finger on it, but I know this taste. It may very well be L&M, because that's what my father smoked. As a maladaptive teen I used to hate having to steal a pack of smokes out of his carton, because I really disliked his brand. He smoked L&Ms for as long as I can remember. Merry Christmas Dad, I can't tell you how much I wish you were still here. Overall, it's a very analog-like vape, similar to their Kamel and Reds Blend. Not as much throat hit, a dryer finish, a little less flavorful. Interesting, but not compelling.
Where do I rate RIZe juice? Hmmm. Well, they aren't one of my favorite juice makers, but on their side this and the two previously mentioned tobacco juices from them are very, very cigarette-like. Much more so than just about every other tobacco juice I've vaped. Your mileage may vary. Mrs. Doctor Vapenstein absolutely loves them, but she wants something that tastes like a cigarette as well as performs like one. I am interested in that performance as well, but I want to venture into the deeper, darker depths that tobacco has to offer. RIZe Rustica tobacco is another one to try for those looking for convincing analog vapes. On that level it succeeds, and it's a worthy entrant to the Analog Replacement Sweepstakes.
