I stumbled across Bombay Vaping off a forum link some time ago. I was initially excited, because they offered some tobacco flavors that looked unique and interesting. They were queued for review.
I saw those same flavors which had looked so unique on a couple of other vendors sites, and a little research turned up that Bombay is using Flavor West flavorings. Flavor West is made by Vapor Renu, a company that I feel is responsible for producing what are perhaps the very worst juices in the entire vaping community. Abominable stuff with zero throat hit, runny consistency and suspect flavors. It's cheap though at $7.49/30ml, so Vapor Renu has a fanbase based on that. Personally I feel that life is too short to sacrifice pleasure for a few pennies, but different strokes...
So enthusiasm dampened a little, I decide to order anyway because there are a few flavors that sound intriguing, and perhaps someone other than Vapor Renu making juice out of them can turn something vape-able out of them.
Today's test subject is Bombay Vaping Virginia Fire Cured Tobacco. I will be vaping this 18mg 70PG/30VG blend at 3.7v on my Silver Bullet with an SLB 1.7 ohm atty.
The nose of this juice is slightly sweet and has an absolutely unindentifiable element in it. Maybe it's supposed to be smoke, but it isn't smoky. It's not bad, just not what you're expecting. Sweet, and slightly perfume-y.
The flavor on inhale is very nondescript. It doesn't tell you much of anything. What it does do is give the impression of a tobacco vape, so on the whole I have no real issues with the juice here. Perhaps just a whisper of smoke, but that is more of an impression provided by the dry finish. It feels like you're vaping something of substance with no overt overtones of anything. That transitions straight into a very respectable throat hit. This juice starts out on the right foot. It doesn't "wow" you, but it has a nice opening act.
The flavor on exhale has an element that makes my tongue tingle, just a little. I wonder if it's citrus. It makes me think citrus, but it is subtle. In addition to that element this vape is dry and slightly sweet. Kind of graham cracker-y. I get no sense of tobacco, but that is par for the course with most tobacco vapes, so no points deducted. This kind of strikes me as half a tobacco vape, like something was forgotten. It is not bad, but the flavor profile here demands something else. If this had just a little earthy flavor or trace of smoke it would be better. Vapor production is average for a PG blend.
Overall an inoffensive, lightweight pseudo-tobacco. Nothing off putting here, and the inhale performance is good. Might be just the thing for someone who is looking for a light tobacco vape that scratches the itch without an overwhelming flavor or sense of tobacco.
