I've previously documented the months-long sojourn of acquiring mysterious Croatian E Liquid from Eliquid Shop. Anticipation turned to disappointment and eventually apathy. Then the juice finally came.
I get excited when I find a vendor with a big library of exotic tobacco vapes. It doesn't happen anymore. A tobacco vape from a newer, highly regarded vendor will pop up now and again, but there are no mysteries left in the world of vaping for me.
The reason Green Witch and Totally Green E Liquids got my hopes up is because they are from half way across the world. I hoped at the very least that they wouldn't taste anything like what we're vaping over here, and I held a secret hope that some of their many tobacco vapes would at least be good. European cigarette brands, cigars, pipe blends, they offer a veritable tobacconist selection of juice. It's like they knew I'd be coming. Unfortunately the first two I reviewed were a bit on the odd side and predictably left me feeling like I should have known better.
Let's get right to brass tacks and sample this 18mg 100% PG juice. I will be vaping this ecofriendly anti-freeze at 3.7v on my Silver Bullet with a 1.7 ohm atty.
Before I even get to my normal evaluation, the bottle smell of this apple cider colored juice is strange but appetizing. It is a combination of caramel and buttered popcorn.
The nose of this juice is slightly smoky, dark and subtly caramel.
The flavor on inhale is not very aggressive. This is one of those juices where the flavor profile on exhale is much more prevalent. On inhale it's sort of non-descript. It doesn't give you much of any sort of impression, and it transitions quickly into average tobacco vape throat hit. This is good or bad. Juice that doesn't give much in the way of flavor cues on inhale can help you suspend disbelief and can make for a good tobacco substitute. I also like more throat hit from 100% PG juice than this one offers.
The flavor on exhale is sweet and bears a strong family resemblance to the other juice I've vaped from these guys. If you like caramel, you're going to like these juices. This is also buttery, which I hope doesn't mean that it's loaded with diacetyl. Tobacco? No, sorry. There's no tobacco to be found here. The best thing about Green Witch Cohib is that it is actually different than the other juices I've tested from them, which were suspiciously similar. This is similar but different. Sweet, buttery and caramel-y. I would be very offended if I bought a cigar that tasted like this. It isn't bad but it isn't what you're expecting from your cigar vape either. That's acceptable I guess, almost no one gets cigar right. Vapor production is predictably not up to most PG blend output, but it is very good for an all PG juice.
This is vapable, but it's also what makes me mad about tobacco vapes sometimes. Whatever my feelings are about all the nut and caramel in most tobacco vapes, I just want there to be something resembling tobacco in there too. At least shoot for some tobacco-like performance.
This is not a particularly full bodied juice, the throat hit is lacking for a cigar vape, and ultimately vapers who come here looking for cigar are going to be disappointed.
