It's true, I got schooled by @Vapor_Mike. For a long time I cast aspersions on fruity menthol vapes, likening them to kid's stuff and not giving them much credit. Then he sent me some of his Cinnamon Strapple, and I saw the light.
Rawr Vapor is a community favorite vendor that specializes in fruit, tea, and specifically, menthol. Mike is pretty much the Grand Wizard of menthol. He'll give you as much as you want, but Rawr offers preset menthol levels that should make anyone happy. My personal favorite, and what today's juice is labeled, is Is There?. A very light hand with the menthol, just enough to send a cool breeze blowing through the vape and not destroy everything else that is going on. It's very good, and even though I'm not a menthol guy, I appreciate how balanced the application is in these.
Today in The Lab I have Pomegranate Tea from Rawr Vapor. Just enough menthol to make this 18mg 70PG/30VG juice interesting. I will be vaping this at 3.7v on my Silver Bullet with a brand new 1.7 ohm SLB atty.
The nose of this juice is fruity and gives away its menthol content.
The flavor on inhale begins to unveil the pomegranate, but then the menthol takes over and dominates from there. Once the menthol asserts itself that is pretty much it for everything else. Throat hit is good but maybe a little less than I was expecting. Lighter than most menthol vapes, and not in tobacco vape territory.
The flavor on exhale is where the pomegranate comes back, leaving a subtle and sweet finish on the end of the vape. I don't really get tea here, and I have to wonder if it was obliterated by the menthol. Vapor production is average for a PG blend.
Rawr Vapor made a big splash with Cinnamon Strapple, which I truly felt and still feel represents a way above average vape with an outstanding usage of menthol. I don't have the same enthusiasm for Pomegranate Tea, which is just kind of average. Still, if fruity mentholated (or non) vapes are your Holy Grail you may find interest in this one. Not bad, but kind of generic after Cinnamon Strapple.
