Goodejuice is taking a novel approach with today's test subject, Goodejuice Hickory Cured Tobacco. According to them they smoked their target tobacco for twelve hours prior to extraction, then blending the result with their Burley tobacco extract. Trailer park Latakia or brilliant idea?
The thing missing from most tobacco vapes is a sense of burning tobacco. You end up with natural tobacco juices that taste grassy and hay-like because of this. For the artificially flavored tobaccos, some vendors try to impart this missing link by adding tobacco absolute, an extremely potent form of concentrated extract. It's a very fine wire to balance on. A very tiny amount will indeed give a juice an ashy element, but cross that line and you are selling people ash tray flavored juice.
I wouldn't use absolute, and in an attempt to recreate this missing element of burning tobacco I would put my money on the smoked tobacco.
Goodejuice's Black Jack Tobacco didn't win me over. Let's see if they fare any better with today's juice. I will be vaping this 18mg 50/50 blend at 3.7v on my Silver Bullet with a brand new 1.7 ohm SLB atty.
The nose of this juice is very much like many of the natural tobacco extracts I've vaped and made. Once it really got into my atty I have to admit, there was a smoky element to the vapor. Overall I was pleasantly surprised by the aroma of this juice and actually have some hope for it. I only say that because I have been disappointed by natural tobacco vapes time and time again. This one smells good.
The flavor on inhale takes an unexpected turn and is much milder than I anticipated. The sweetener used is evident, but it isn't syrup-y sweet. There is not so much a strong sense of tobacco or burning tobacco here, in fact I would be hard pressed to identify any smoke at all on inhale. The sense this vape gives you is of a very well done, very easy to vape natural tobacco juice that you could let your perceptions fill in the blanks. It's unmistably tobacco, but it isn't heavy and doesn't pound your tastebuds into submission. Compared to the vendors who have a history of making natural tobacco vapes, this juice stands up admirably. Throat hit is not spectacular, but it's enough to let you know you're vaping something.
The flavor on exhale has a faint hint of smoke in a slightly sweet, mild and earthy tobacco base. I like my flavors big and bold, but I can't fault the quality of flavor here. They've done a nice job with this juice. My concerns would be that the extract is very dark, and the blend is 50/50, so this one may be hard on attys. Other than that, this is a good flavor that doesn't wear out your palate. It doesn't recreate burning tobacco, but the very slight presence of smoke here is a nice addition to the tobacco base. Vapor production is very good, as you would expect of a 50/50 blend.
Overall this is a successful effort from Goodejuice. I like this much better than the last one. Not an analog replacement, but a solid natural tobacco vape. Recommended.
