This is the 200th juice review on Vapenstein. This site will celebrate its first birthday on Halloween, and my first vaperversary is two weeks from today. It has been a lot of fun reviewing all these juices, and I have been busy with other vaping projects, as you know. I haven't been as prolific the last couple months because of everything I have on my plate, but I will never abandon this site. There will be new reviews here as long as people are still vaping and I'm still drawing breath.
200 reviews. Think about that for a moment. My goal for Vapenstein was to create a resource that vapers would find value in. I hope I've done that. In my opinion there is nothing like this site in the vaping world. I've seen vaping blogs come and go in the last year. It's always fun to start a new project, but it's easy to lose your momentum. Sticking with a web site for the long haul is something that very few people do. I hope that you have found value in the words on these pages, along with my other vaping pursuits. My promise to you is that I'm not going anywhere, and you'll continue to see new web content and new vaping product from me as time unfolds. So enough about Vapenstein, thank you. Thank you for coming here, thank you for reading, and thank you for trying my product. Without you, all of this is nothing.
Today I am reviewing a new juice from a vendor I think is a real class act, Vaperite. More than anyone in vaping, Mr. Todd Gano was the inspiration for me to start creating my own juice. His natural tobacco extracts were pretty much unique in all of vaping a year ago when I started. In fact, Todd was the first person I spoke to about creating Vapenstein Blend juice, and for a short time before I met Donley we were going to do the project together. He'll always have my thanks, and I have a tremendous amount of respect for the man and his product.
Today's juice is Vaperite Madagascar Vanilla Tobacco, which is Todd's house extracted tobacco with a vanilla finish. Sounds wonderful, let's head to The Lab. I will be vaping this 16mg 50PG/50VG blend at 3.7v on my Silver Bullet with a 1.5 ohm 306 atty.
The nose of this cola colored juice is a wonderful vanilla note over natural tobacco.
The flavor on inhale has that soft creaminess that good vanilla gives. It isn't a sweet and artificial vanilla note like so many vanilla vapes. The vanilla is executed here near to perfection. If there was a cream soda tobacco (I love cream soda), it would taste something like this. The tobacco base here is very well done also. I get a nice sense of tobacco on inhale, and it doesn't taste grassy or too subtle or anything else I don't want. This juice makes a good first impression. I'm also going to go out on a limb and say I like the throat hit of this juice. In the past that was one of the minor criticisms I had against Vaperite tobaccos. I just didn't find them as robust as I wanted. This juice has a satisfying throat hit, better than I remember from the previous Vaperite tobaccos I've reviewed.
The flavor on exhale is more of that really well done soft vanilla note on top of a mild (but not dull or bland) natural tobacco. This is exactly what I would want from a vanilla tobacco vape. Not a crazy over the top recreation of Captain Black pipe tobacco, but a really nice vanilla infused tobacco, and one that appears to have really good performance characteristics. The flavor here is really good. Vapor production is dense and satisfying, as you would expect from 50/50 juice.
So far I do not get a sense that this juice is an atty killer. It's tough making good tobacco extracts that aren't, and I've always been up front about my own being hard on attys. What we have here is a natural tobacco with superior performance characteristics and great vanilla flavor. I had no intention of trying to review a juice that would merit an It's Alive! for my 200th review, and frankly I didn't think a vanilla tobacco would make me go there. It's a pleasant surprise that this juice is so good, and it is totally deserving of this honor on its own merits. Thanks for helping me celebrate my 200th juice review Todd, your new juice kicks ass!
