Vermillion River showed me that they aren't just a one trick pony. The juice has good burning properties, the flavors are very good, and they satisfy. I started out with the Maplewood. Loved it initially, then kind of hit a wall with it and figured it was one of those juices that made a good first impression but wore out its welcome quick. I got back to it about 10 days after I thought I was tired of it, and I liked it all over again and vaped the bottle dry.
So I went back for another order and snagged a couple more of their Kentucky series. Up for evaluation today is Vermillion River Kentucky Vanilla Blend, their signature tobacco base with vanilla. Vanilla is a great addition to tobacco because it adds a sweet note without obliterating the tobacco. It's Alive! Award and 2010 Vapey winner Halo Bella Valente is my favorite vanilla vape, and the closest thing I've ever had to an all day vape. It is very, very temperamental however, and my enjoyment of it depends on my body chemistry that day, what I've had to eat, and how much of it I've vaped. If that wasn't the case, it's very likely I would vape nothing but Bella.
I will be vaping today's 20mg test subject on my Silver Bullet at 3.7v with a 1.5 ohm Joye 306 atty. Vermillion River doesn't list PG/VG ratios specifically, but I would guess this one is 70/30-65/35.
The nose of this juice is a simple sweet vapor tinged with vanilla. Let it burn a little longer and you get the impression of smoke.
The flavor on inhale is an easy to get along with mild tobacco vape. I get the very faintest trace of a nut element, and I mean it is subtle. You could easily miss it. The vanilla makes its presence known through the sweet softness this has on inhale, but it isn't an in your face, obvious element. Throat hit is on the better end of average for a tobacco vape.
The flavor on exhale is where the vanilla and base intertwine and present a very cohesive flavor profile. This doesn't taste like tobacco with a little vanilla added, it tastes like tobacco with a vanilla note. Very nice integration of flavors. It's not overly sweet, but it is a sweet tobacco vape. Vapor production is average for a PG blend.
This is a nice vape. I do not like the flavor profile here as much as I did the Maplewood, but that's just my preference. Mrs. Doctor Vapenstein usually doesn't care for sweet tobacco vapes if they aren't from Vapor Station, but she did like this one. I'll finish my bottle, but it's not going into my rotation. It may make yours though, because it's a good juice and I am giving it my recommendation.
