Freedom Smoke USA makes quality juice using FlavourArt flavorings, which they are a national and worldwide distributor for. David at Freedom Smoke USA is responsible for Wyatt Earp, a Vapenstein It's Alive! Award winning juice. Whether you like FlavourArt or not, Wyatt Earp is a great recipe and a solid vape. I know I talk about artisanal product and handmade extracts a lot, but I have to give credit where credit is due, and Wyatt Earp deserves credit in my opinion. I still vape Wyatt Earp every day.
The folks at Freedom Smoke USA take one approach to making juice. It's a valid approach, and they have lots and lots of satisfied customers. The outfit itself is top notch, and the interaction that I've personally had with David has been great and left me with a very favorable impression of the guy and his operation.
Today I am sitting down and vaping some FSUSA RY5 at 24mg on my 3.7v Copper 510, and here are my thoughts on it.
FSUSA RY5 is described as being a sweeter variation of RY4. I can go with that. Nose is kind of smoky-sweet. Throat hit is actually pretty good, but it should be at 24mg. Tobacco? I guess. Kind of. In a non-descript harsh, smoky sort of way, but no leaf flavor coming through. No pipe or cigar notes, more like a cigarette that doesn't make a particularly tobacco-ish impression. Not bad, but not the deep, rich tobacco that I am drawn to in my tobacco vapes.
Similar to the FSUSA RY4, the caramel I get is more of a caramel flavor than the impression of genuine caramel like some other RY4s. I don't really detect vanilla as a forward component in this RY5. It contributes to the whole and kind of fades into the background. My overall impression is that I like the FSUSA RY5 better than I did the FSUSA RY4.
This juice is actually better than the sum of its parts. The brief impressions I've listed above would normally lead to an unfavorable conclusion, but as I sit here vaping this it really isn't that bad. Like the other FSUSA juices I've had, vapor production is above average. The hit is pretty good, and it is satisfying in that "I need to suck on something that my brain thinks could be a cigarette" way, with decent throat hit and chest-filling satisfaction. I won't have any problem vaping this bottle empty, but for me it probably isn't one I would order again.
I think a Freedom Smoke USA fan, especially one that likes tobacco vapes and RY4 in particular, would like this quite a bit.
David and Pamela at FSUSA are a hard working husband and wife, raising their kids and trying to build a family business in a tough economy. I wish them all the luck in the world.
