New product launches and sick dogs have prevented me from writing for the last couple of weeks. I have overdue kudos to dish out to Vapenstein Super Minion Micki Bingham, who was the winner of the trivia sweepstakes on the Vapenstein Facebook page. Congratulations Micki, and thanks for playing!
Today I have a juice from our old friend Todd Gano at Vaperite, Vaperite Organic 2x Butterscotch.
Some years back I used to spend every Sunday at a friend's house, hanging out and relaxing. Various substances were smoked, take out bar food was eaten, and the standing house rule was that if anyone mentioned the name of a certain local ice cream chain that person would be making the ice cream run. My favorite and the only item I ever bought for myself was the biggest butterscotch malt they sold. Frosty heaven in a waxed paper cup. Sugar, butter and milk, just like caramel. The emphasis of butterscotch is brighter and more focused on the butter.
Let's take this 16mg non-dairy confection into The Lab, where I will be vaping it at 3.7v on my Silver Bullet with a 1.5 ohm Joye 306.

I am a big fan of Nick at Goodejuice. What his juice tells me about him is that he is a guy who has integrity. The sort of vendor who feels that average is not good enough for him or his customers. That is the sort of person this community needs more of.
Nick also knows a little something about tobacco. The average vaper smoked cigarettes once, but didn't really have any love of tobacco. That's why more vapers vape non-tobaccos than tobaccos. For those of us who do love tobacco, Nick is one of the only guys out there creating interesting, quality tobacco vapes.
Take today's test subject, Goodejuice Patriot Tobacco. A mix of Perique, Burley and Cavendish. Not something the average ex-smoker would know or care about, but to me it says robust, earthy Burley counterbalanced with the slight spice and fermented fruit tang of Perique and the soft sweetness of Cavendish. Sounds like something I'd smoke in a pipe, in fact, it's not too far off Cornell & Diehl Old Joe Krantz, which is one of my favorite tobaccos and one that I keep several pounds of in my cellar.
That's enough foreplay, let's head into The Lab, where I will be vaping this 18mg 50/50 blend at 3.7v on my Silver Bullet with a 1.5 ohm Joye 306.
Mrs. Doctor Vapenstein, The Creature and Little Igor all love watermelon. It's a summer staple at Castle Vapenstein and one can scarcely avoid the sticky juice of watermelon in the Vapenstein Kitchens as my paramour and offspring are not accustomed to or apparently interested in keeping a tidy Lab.
My experience with watermelon is somewhat different. At the tender age of 8 I participated in a watermelon eating contest that resulted in my eating a whole seeded watermelon. Watermelon had been my very favorite food up to that point, but four hours of vivid red projectile vomiting has a tendency to reduce your enthusiasm. I haven't eaten watermelon since, although I can tolerate watermelon flavored things.
Today's test subject is from Todd at Vaperite. It's a little experiment called Kool Watermelon Tobacco, and I am assuming a natural tobacco vape with watermelon and menthol.
I will be vaping today's 16mg 50/50 juice at 3.7v on my Silver Bullet with a 1.5 ohm Joye 306 attached.
You can't keep a jar of Nutella around here at the Castle. I'm pretty sure The Creature comes down in the middle of the night and eats it directly from the jar.
If you want to piss Mrs. Doctor Vapenstein off during the holidays, eat all her Ferrero Rocher. Good luck with that one. I have to live here, I'm not going near them.
Hazelnut must trigger some endorphin release or something. It's a very comforting flavor that also is delicate and never really overpowers anything it's mated with. It's an excellent, complimentary flavor. Today's vape, Hazelnut Cream from Highbrow Vapor, is simply Hazelnut paired with sweet cream, which sounds like it should be a very enjoyable vape.
Let's get to The Lab, where I will be vaping today's 80PG/20VG 18mg test subject at 3.7v on my Silver Bullet with a 1.5 ohm Joye 306.
Goodejuice came out of nowhere (for me) this winter and quickly established themselves as the producers of some of the best natural tobacco extracts in all of vaping. Really good stuff and one It's Alive! winner so far. I have more of their juice in The Cellar, so we'll be looking at more of their house extracted tobacco vapes.
Today's test subject is GJ4 Tobacco. It's their natural tobacco RY4 variant, and according to them we should expect vanilla but no caramel, which makes it a little different than the average RY4.
One thing I do know with Goodejuice is that will not be vaping DK Tab with vanilla today, so let's see how GJ4 Tobacco stacks up against the better RY4s in the business.
I will be vaping this 18mg 50/50 blend at 3.7v on my Silver Bullet with a 1.5 ohm Joye 306.
