I was itching for an unregulated box mod and ended up commissioning this box from RC Box Mods. It's a black anodized cnc milled Hammond G replacement box, dual 18650 in parallel, paracord on the wiring, mosfet, green led voltmeter, black low profile Fat Daddy, black Mitec switch. Great size, looks super clean, great in the hand. Very happy with this box, thanks to RC Box Mods! Pics below.

I've been looking forward to this one since early March, and it absolutely is living up to expectations. Thanks Jay and Beastmode Mods, this is the box mod I've always wanted.
Ok everyone, a formal review of this device is coming next week. I just drove through ninety minutes of violently shaken snow globe, made Little Igor and myself dinner, and now have just enough time to tease you with this.
The Kalamazoo Vapor Shop Triple V is my first 5v device. In fact, although I own two 6v-capable devices, I've never used either at 6v. Most days a 3.7v device with a LR atty is fine, but some days I wish I had a device with more punch.
I had been watching for this device since around Christmas. I have a weakness for sexy tube mods, and this fulfilled most of my criteria. The KVS Triple V is a very nice looking 5v aluminum tube mod that has been polished to a chrome-like finish. The button is black, and nice and click-y. It uses two 18350 batteries. It is taller and slightly smaller in diameter than my Bombshell. It's a nice looking device, and for the $75 asking price I am already feeling good about buying one, and I haven't even vaped it yet. I can already tell this will be a fingerprint magnet, and James might want to consider offering it in a brushed finish in addition to the high luster polished aluminum. Really good looking mod. Apologies for the bad photos, but I'm pressed for time til next week.
Here are some unboxing pics to hold you over until the I get the Triple V in The Lab next week:
I have wanted a new mod for a while, but there really wasn't anything on the horizon that felt like a device I couldn't live without. The new Precious looks like a big disappointment after watching Scott Bonner's review. The Precise is just a basic 3.7/6v mod without any bells and whistles. Granted, it's probably the world's coolest mod in that category, but the price is kind of hard to swallow for what it does. None of the wooden box mods get me excited. The VV stuff out now and coming soon doesn't do much for me, even though I like the idea of VV. The bottom fed mods are of no interest at all to me.
So I was kind of biding my time until the mod that gave me that tingle came along. Then I fried a switch on my trusty Bombshell, and I started to get frustrated after vaping my little 14500 Copper for a week. Superior mod for the travel case, not what I want to vape on all day when I'm at home.
I agonized over a couple tried and true devices for about a week, then finally broke down and ordered a Silver Bullet from AltSmoke.
Just got my new Bombshell from Hot Vapes in. No time for a detailed first impressions article, but I thought I would jot a few quick notes. This is an incredibly nice PV for the money. It looks like a poor man's The Precious. It's an all aluminum 18650 battery mod, and I chose to get mine in naked aluminum.
I love the idea of not having to swap batteries at all during the day, and I've had my eye on an 18650 mod for a while. Funny thing is, I had finally decided I would have to own the 18650 version of The Precious, and I was just waiting til after Christmas to get one.
Enter Hot Vapes, who I shamefully admit I wasn't familiar with. Tim from Hot Vapes made a post on ECF this week revealing The Bombshell, and I immediately knew I'd be getting one. Unfortunately the holiday-overburdened postal service was not able to get me my Bombshell yesterday, but it was waiting for me when I got home today.
A detailed review of this device will be published once I've spent some quality time with it. My initial impressions are very positive. It vapes like a champ. It looks great. It feels great. It's only $60. Yeah, you read that right. Sixty bones. Hot Vapes is going to sell an awful lot of these Bombshells at that price. More on The Bombshell next week, until then enjoy some unboxing pics.
